Is one of your goals this year to read more?
Here are the best business books I’ve read over the past few years and a description of each. They’re in no particular order.
- The Fire Starter Sessions
You can’t go into business without the right mindset and this book is a great foundation to create change and continue to grow as a person as well as a business person.
- Money: A Love Story
An inspiring and practical guide for getting all of your money ducks in a row and learning how to keep attracting more of it.
- The War of Art
Everyone struggles with resistance to doing their art in some way. I open this book several times a week just to keep myself clear and focused.
- Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook
Everything you need to know about selling on social media.
- Girl Boss
Super inspiring autobiography that proves that success has nothing to do with where you started and the value of being your authentic self in business.
- The E Myth
Every single person starting a business needs to read this immediately. It defines the stages of a company between infancy and maturity and explains the reasons why most businesses don’t make it past the first 5 years. Here’s a Cliff’s notes style video review I did about the E myth.
- Rework
Clear, concise and actionable steps to grow your business. It’s an easy read with lots of inspirational pictures.
- How to Win Friends and Influence People
They say “Your network is your net worth.” This book is all about making people like and support you by being caring and authentic.
- Tribes
A must-read for anyone who is leading or wants to lead anything at all.
- The Tipping Point
You’ll learn how reaching a small group of connectors can ultimately influence the masses and how to get your messages, ideas and products to spread like viruses.
- Predictably Irrational
After you read this book, you’ll be able to understand every human better and feel almost guilty for having this super power.
- Trust Agents
This isn’t so much about social media strategy but more the psychology that goes into creating relationships online with your potential clients and customers.
- Think and Grow Rich
This gem was originally published in 1937. The caption on the back cover speaks for itself: “There have been millionaires, and indeed, billionaires, who have made their fortunes as a result of reading this success classic than any other book ever printed.”
- The 4 Hour Workweek
The title is a little deceiving but if you’re open-minded, you’ll learn valuable strategies that will teach you how to live more and work less while making you completely question the typical 40 hour workweek lifestyle.
- Launch
Easy-to-understand breakdown of email list building and funnel systems.
- Â Rich Dad, Poor Dad
Everything you need to know about Incorporating, paying yourself as an employee and how taxes work. If you’re not already in business for yourself, you’ll want to be after reading this.
These are only 16 of my top best business books, my library is ridiculous. Do you have any recommendations that I should read? Let me know in the comments!
